You asked me to let you go,
You knew I could never say no.
And as I watched you walk away,
You took with you a part of my soul.

I tried to fight you, I tried for you to stay.
Though you kept coming back,
Something always kept you away.

And now and then I get to breathe;
Sometimes only, it’s a rarity.
Most of all it’s just survival:

My chest always tight,
My eyes always wet.
I’ve learnt that life is,
Kind of meaningless.
